The Week Ahead – March 16–20, 2026
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Gay–Straight Alliance (GSA) is excited to share an initiative that reflects our commitment to building a school where every student feels valued, supported, and included. This year, our GSA is proud to support the School Council’s important project of renovating our school bathrooms. These spaces are used by every student, every day, and improving them will benefit our entire community—regardless of race, religion, background, or gender.
To help raise funds for this project, the GSA will be hosting a school-wide bottle drive from Monday, March 16 through Thursday, March 19, concluding during Parent–Teacher Interviews.
During this week, a collection trailer will be placed outside the school, making it easy for families to drop off bottles directly into the open trailer. We encourage families to bring bottles from home when arriving for drop-off, pick-up, or interviews. Bringing bottles in a family vehicle is often much easier than carrying large bags on the bus, and every contribution—big or small—will help us move closer to our goal.
The GSA is committed to becoming a foundational part of the culture at Senator Patrick Burns Junior High School. We believe that leadership, kindness, and community action are powerful ways to strengthen our school. By helping fund the bathroom renovations, we hope to contribute to a project that improves daily life for every student and reflects the values of respect, dignity, and belonging that guide our work.
Thank you for supporting our efforts and for continuing to make SPB a place where everyone can thrive. We look forward to seeing our community come together during the bottle drive and beyond.
With appreciation,
The Gay–Straight Alliance of Senator Patrick Burns Junior High School
Sr. Ludwigsen
Principal
