The Week Ahead June 8 - 12, 2026
Dear Bronco Family,
The Senator Patrick Burns School Council would like to invite you to our screening of Screenagers on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the SPB Gym. This film has been shown in many schools in Calgary over the past years, and we have the updated 2026 version to screen. Our idea is to involve parents and guardians in the conversation first, before we show the film to our students, to spark conversations about technology use in school and at home. We hope you can join us next Thursday evening at SPB.
Have a good weekend.

About Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age
Are you watching young people immersed in their screens - scrolling through social media, playing video games, and losing focus with ever-decreasing attention spans?
Physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston faced this challenge with her own kids. She questioned how screen use was affecting family dynamics, education, and the mental well-being of young people. Screenagers takes a deeply personal and relatable approach - Delaney opens the doors to her own family life and meets with others to explore the messy struggles over social media, video games, academics, and internet addiction.
Through poignant and unexpectedly humorous stories, paired with surprising insights from leading experts, Screenagers reveals how screens are shaping kids' development. Most importantly, it offers actionable solutions to help adults empower kids to navigate the digital age and find balance.
