TWA Nov. 20-24 | Clubs, Cross Country Opportunity, Morpheus Theatre, School Council Meetings, Srta. Shutt
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It seems that we do not have five-day weeks anymore in the CBE and I am aware that this can put pressure on families to find child support and ways to keep your children busy and occupied. Please be assured that we take every professional learning day very seriously and focus on learning that is appropriate for our school at this time. During last week’s Indigenous Learning Day, we focussed on land acknowledgments and found a way to make them more appropriate and personal for us teachers here at SPB. Next Friday we will have the third and final day of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, a program that teaches us how to better regulate our students when they are dysregulated. Lifelong learning is an essential focus for the Alberta Teachers Association, the CBE and all teachers here at Senator Patrick Burns. The aim is to ensure that we all have up-to-date skills and knowledge to best teach your children.
Have a good weekend. Sr. Ludwigsen, Principal

Teacher Introductions
This week, please meet our new(ish) Physical Education Teacher Srta. Shutt:
Dear Senator Patrick Burns Community,
It is with great enthusiasm and gratitude that I finally formally introduce myself as your Physical Education teacher, Srta. Shutt. Joining the esteemed ranks of the SPB family back in March has been a homecoming of sorts for me, as I am proud to say that I am not only a dedicated educator but also an alumnus of this exceptional Spanish-bilingual school.
My journey into the world of education has been deeply influenced by my own experiences as a student at SPB. The values instilled in me during my time here have shaped my commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. With a focus on promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and a passion for lifelong well-being, I am eager to contribute to the vibrant atmosphere at SPB.
Outside of the classroom, you might find me on a kayak or taking pictures of animals, as I believe in maintaining a balanced and active lifestyle.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the SPB students, parents, and staff for the warm welcome I have received thus far. I am enthusiastic about the opportunities that lie ahead and am committed to making a positive impact on the well-being and growth of our students.
I look forward to an active and enriching school year! Best regards,
Srta. Shutt
