Robotics Club FTC Round 1
Bronco Bots did amazing during their first competition! Team 1 placed 12 and Team 2 (girls team) placed 11 out of the 26 teams that participated. Congratulations to Team 2 for playing the highest scoring match of the event!!
There were many exciting moments during this event: for one match they played against each other, for another match Team 2 played with the Crescent Heights Robotics Team, alongside one of the members from our club from last year!
It was a very exciting day. Our next event will be at Crescent Heights High School on Friday, November 24 from noon until 6pm. Drop in to support us!

Teacher Introductions
This week, please meet our new Physical Education Teacher Sr. Palacios
Dear SPB School Community,
My name is Nelson Palacios, and I am excited and humbled to be a part of the SPB school community. I was born and raised in the boogie-down Bronx, New York City. I moved to Alberta a little more than two years ago and have been enjoying all the wonderful experiences the province and people have to offer.
I could not be happier to be a part of this amazing school community, from the students and families to my colleagues who are all so welcoming and caring that they make every day more special than the next. I have been studying in the field of Physical Education since 2019 and taught in the Bronx public schools for two years. It has been a great honor to teach in the community I live in, and it continues to be an honor here at SPB.
I hope to share my passions for healthy active living, outdoor activity, sportsmanship, community, and curiosity with SPB, as we work to create meaningful learning this year. Thank you for having me.
Best regards, Nelson Palacios
