TWA Dec. 18-22 | Robotics, Spirit Week, Fundraising, Homework Club, Opening Times, Personal Property,
Dear Parents and Guardians,
At this weekend's Robotics League Tournament, Bronco Bots Team 1 were very competitive and played the highest scoring match of the event. They were selected by the #1 team as an alliance for the finals and then won the tournament. They are now qualified for provincials which will take place on March 17th in Red Deer. Bronco Bots Team 2 played competitively too and won 2nd place for the Connect Award for uniting their passion for engineering and supporting the community. They will participate in another event on February 10th in hopes to qualify for provincials. ¡Viva Bronco Bots!
Have a good weekend. Sr. Ludwigsen, Principal

Fundraising for Basketball Court in 2024 – Bronco Barn
In our quest to update our outdoor basketball court behind the school, the Student Council has started a campaign to raise money for the Basketball Court that we would like to be ready for the summer in 2024. The SPB Parent Association has graciously offered to match fund all fundraising activities of the students. Refundable bottles, the vending machine profits, and healthy hunger profits will be the bases for the student fundraising. On top of this, the Student Council has decided to use the Bronco Barn for individual fundraisers organized by different homerooms in the next month. The first group to run a fundraiser was Sra. Towers class who sold $550 worth of candy sleighs. Thank you to all parents who donated the materials for the candy sleighs. Watch out for further Bronco Barn fundraisers in the near future.

Homework Club
We have several peer tutors available to help in all subjects. If your student is interested in being paired with a tutor, contact Sra. Webb at mswebbatcbe.ab.ca.
School Opening Times - Reminder
A kind reminder that school hours are from 8:25 am to 2:55 pm. We open our doors at 8:00 am to allow students into the building early to get ready for the day. As we have no way of supervising students after school, we ask you to pick up your child by 3:15 pm unless your child is participating in a club after school. Students will have to wait outside the building before 8:00 am and after 3:15 pm unless the temperature is below –20 C. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Care of Personal Property - Reminder
Just a reminder that the school is not responsible for the loss or damage of personal property. Students are advised to leave items of value at home and not share their locker combinations.

Teacher Introductions
With Sra. Jarque’s introduction last week, we have reached the end of the new teacher introduction. All teachers have integrated well since September and make for a excellent SPB teacher body. SPB is very lucky to have such knowledgeable, competent and committed teachers.
Starting in January, we will use this space to share a bit about our various extracurricular activities and what the groups get up to in a section called SPB Club Updates. Stay tuned.
