Dear Parents and Guardians
This week, our Grade 9 students went on a tour of our Spanish Bilingual High School, Crescent Heights, where they had the opportunity to explore different classes and options. The students especially enjoyed the swag they were given which resulted in many Broncos suddenly wearing Cowboy toques and lanyards. With SPB being part of the Spanish Bilingual Program in the CBE we strongly encourage our students to continue their Spanish learning journey at the only High School in the CBE that offers a bilingual Spanish program. For more information, there will be an open house at Crescent Heights High School on January 23,, 2025, 5:00-8:00 pm. Thank you to Sra. Towers for organizing this fantastic opportunity for our students.
Have a great weekend and stay warm. Sr. Ludwigsen, Principal

CTF Options – Food
Due to a mechanical fault, there is currently no electricity in the Foods Lab. Unfortunately, a critical part that is needed to repair the breaker has to be back ordered and will only arrive in late December. This means that there will be no stoves and microwaves available this month. We are sorry about this inconvenience.
Grade 6 No-Cut Volleyball Tournament: A Celebration of Skills, Sportsmanship and Orgullo Bronco Pride.
We’re excited to announce a special opportunity just for our Grade 6 SPB students: a No-Cut Volleyball Tournament! This is your chance to explore, develop, and refine your volleyball skills while showcasing your Orgullo Bronco Pride and sportsmanship.
To participate, students must commit to all four practices from December 9 to December 12, 3:00–4:00 PM. These practices will help prepare players for an exciting tournament on Friday, December 13, starting at 1:30 PM.
Let’s bring our best energy to the court and make this a memorable event! ●
For more information, students can contact Sra. Bayona in Room 23.
Wellness | We have a MO-vember team! Will you support us?
This year, 8 of our male staff members have completely shaved and joined the MO-vement in support of men's physical and mental health.
The campaign is so much more than growing moustaches, and anyone can be involved. It’s about supporting the men in our lives we care about to lead healthier, longer lives. For us, at SPB, it’s also about setting an example for our students that men’s health matters and that we have a community of support.
What is Movember?
Movember is the leading global charity changing the face of men’s health. They exist to stop men dying too young by tackling some of the most complex health issues facing men today – mental health, suicide, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
On average, men are dying 4.5 years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons. We want to do something about that.
How to Support our Efforts?
As a parent, you are welcome to join our team and do your own fundraising AND we are inviting donations both ONLINE & IN-PERSON.
To donate online OR join the team, go to: https://movember.com/t/the-men- of-spb?mc=1
To donate in person, simply bring your funds to the main office.
On the donation message, make sure to mention your child’s house name/colour.
