Dear Parents and Guardians
Welcome (back) to Senator Patrick Burns School. We are excited to start a new year that will bring new opportunities and changes for all of us. The first beautiful change you will notice when you come to SPB will be the new concrete sidewalk outside the front of the school. The potholes have been filled as well, making for a much more inviting outside environment (see picture above). Furthermore, after years of advocating from the SPB Student Council to fix the floor tiles on the second floor in our school, students will walk on beautiful, upgraded floors on the second floor of our building (see picture above). Thank you for all the advocacy and campaigning of the Student Council to have this issue addressed by the CBE. Finally, after years of disruption around the upgrading of the boilers and HVAC systems at SPB, we now have air conditioning that is working and creates a nice indoor climate on very hot days and heating that will keep us warm once the colder days start. Thank you for the patience and understanding you have shown us during the past years when these areas were being upgraded.
Please see below for all important information for the first days at Senator Patrick Burns.
I am excited to see many of you next week as I will be greeting our students and parents outside the front door of our school.
Have a great weekend.
Sr. Ludwigsen, Principal
Classroom List and Option Classes
As we embark on a new school year, we know that all students will be very excited to see their schedules and learn about which teachers they have for each of their classes and to discover which option courses they are scheduled to take over the course of the year. Our dedicated team of teachers have invested considerable effort into crafting balanced class lists that optimize learning opportunities and ensure a supportive educational environment. They consider a wide variety of factors when deciding on these lists and each student is very thoughtfully placed.
In addition to their core classes, the students will get to experience many different option courses over their time at Senator Patrick Burns school. We encourage you to discuss the upcoming school year with your child, emphasizing the value of embracing these new classes with an open mind and a positive attitude. Your support in helping them approach these opportunities with enthusiasm will be instrumental in their success and overall enjoyment of the school year. Please note that course or classroom changes are only made in consultation with the student, parents and guardians and administration team under exceptional circumstances. Thank you for your continued partnership in fostering a vibrant and enriching educational experience.
