Dear Parents and Guardians,

After months of preparation, we held our first Wellness Symposium at Senator Patrick Burns School today. All students had the opportunity to learn about wellness or immerse themselves into wellness activities. Students had the opportunity to try Tae Kwon Do, PULSE (learning the basics of break dancing, popping and locking), stage fighting, fun with masks, henna, therapeutic drum circle or learn about healthy mechanisms for coping with stress, being mindful, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, what self- kindness looks like or how to move through loss. The day would not have been possible without the incredible support of our parents, friends of SPB, staff and especially the tremendous efforts of Sra. Aguilera Webb who masterminded this day. Thank you to everyone involved – we hope that this Wellness Symposium can become a yearly tradition at SPB as we are all aware how much wellness can support learning.

Have a great weekend. Sr. Ludwigsen, Principal

Music / Band / Summer Concert

Due to Sr. Melchin being away on a month-long leave, Sra. Ramage has taken over all music and band lessons as well as band practices after school for the duration of his absence. Unfortunately, this also means that we will have to cancel the summer concert, but we will give all bands the opportunity to perform during our pep rally end of June. Thank you for your understanding and support.
