SPB weekly top image on May 11, 2026

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week, I would like to highlight the incredible work of both our SPB School Council as well as the SPB Parent Association. I would like to thank everyone who is involved in the School Council and joins us for our monthly meetings, during which we have the chance to share the work we do every day at SPB and what our long-term plans are with regards to finance and curriculum. The insightful feedback and questions we receive allow us to become a better school and make us accountable to our most important stakeholders, you, our parents and guardians. In case you have not joined one of our School Council meetings yet, why not come and join us on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM online? The link to the meeting will be in next week’s The Week Ahead email and will also be sent out the day before together with an agenda via SchoolMessenger.

The SPB Parent Association is the fundraising group of our parents and guardians who meet monthly to plan fundraising events and decide which funding proposals from teachers they can support. The aim of the Parent Association is always to support projects that benefit the vast majority of our students and have impact on student learning. Projects that the Parent Association has significantly supported in the past are for example: the outdoor basketball court, gym equipment, Spanish dance residencies, purchasing of outdoor education equipment and many more. The fundraising money always goes 100% back to our students and has a huge impact in our school. In case you would like to get involved with the Parent Association, please do not hesitate to reach out to the chair, Amanda Vanin via email: amandalvanin@gmail.com.

Have an enjoyable weekend!
