Dear Parents and Guardians

I am pleased to share that our SPB Track and Field Team had a fantastic showing at our recent meet, securing second place overall with many top two finishes across the divisions and events. Their hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship were truly commendable!

A special thank you goes to our student volunteers who assisted in running the long jump event, ensuring everything operated smoothly. We also extend our sincere appreciation to our teacher coaches, who generously volunteered their time to guide and mentor our athletes. Their commitment and support made a significant impact on our team’s success. All this was made possible by the amazing PE team under the leadership of Sra. Shutt who has taken the PE to a new level this year. Thank you so much for all your leadership.

Thank you for your continued support in celebrating the achievements of our students. We are incredibly proud of our team and their efforts!

On the same day, we also had the SPB Summer Band Concert, this time at Crescent High School to allow for more room for students and visitors. Here is a summary from our incredible band leader, Sr. Melchin:

On Monday, June 2, the SPB bands performed their year-end concert. I could not be prouder of their accomplishments. 200 students filled the gym as part of the grade 7, grade 8, grade 9, and jazz bands, with 80 minutes of solid music, plus some talking. It's always amazing to me to see the growth through the years. The grade 7s play enthusiastically and with promise, the grade 8s you start to hear real complexity with some rough edges, and then they make it to grade 9 and performed some amazing music so beautifully that they touch those moment of perfection for which every artist strives.

I couldn't ask for a more meaningful send-off as I relinquish my position as SPB's music teacher. I will forever treasure the memories of my time teaching at SPB, and will always be thankful for the wonderful staff, parents, and especially students I worked with. Senator Patrick Burns truly is a special school, and it is because of the people who are a part of it. I look forward to hearing about the amazing things coming out of SPB and my alumni students in the future. Orgullo Bronco Pride.

With love,

Sr. Brant Melchin

Band Performance

Thank you Sr. Melchin for eight years of music at SPB during which you have impacted the lives of so many students and instilled an understanding and love of music in their lives. We wish you the best of luck in your journey ahead.

As announced during the concert, we are excited to announce that Sra. Poulsom will be taking over the band program next year. She is looking forward to continuing music education at SPB and bringing her own ideas and talents to this position. We are looking forward to hearing more of you in the future, Sra. Poulsom.

Have a great weekend,

Sr. Ludwigsen, Principal
