Dear Parents and Guardians,

Last Friday, May 23, SPB’s second annual Wellness Symposium and Pep Rally was a full-day celebration of student well-being, leadership, and school spirit.

The symposium featured sessions on topics like Tai Chi, yoga, drumming, financial wellness, and sustainability with Green Calgary. Presenters included SPB parents and connections made through a Grade 9 leadership project, giving students meaningful, real-world leadership experience. The pep rally brought high energy with a Rock Band performance and a spirited volleyball match between boys’ and girls’ teams. We also celebrated student involvement in clubs, athletics, leadership, and academics, showcasing our Orgullo Bronco Pride.

We wrapped up by announcing the 2025 House Champion. Congratulations to House of Amistad (Red) for taking the win, and all students for building a strong sense of belonging at SPB.

A big thank you to Sra. Albertazzi and Sra. Poulsom and the SPB Wellness Team who put so much effort into making this day a great success.

Have a great weekend,

Sr. Ludwigsen, Principal

SPB Presents: Peter and the Starcatcher

You might have heard the rumors and yes, it is true...our school play is opening in just a few weeks! Our students will be performing at Crescent Heights High School Theatre. The play, Peter and the Starcatcher, runs about 2 hours and 20 minutes, including an intermission.

There are several options to see the show:

  1. Purchase a ticket to one of two evening performances, either on June 5 at 6pm or on June 6 and 6pm. Doors to the theatre will open at 5:30. Tickets are $10 and they can be purchased online at the following links:

Please note that each show has some cast differences in the lead and featured roles! Tickets at the door are not guaranteed, so we strongly recommend purchasing ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

  1. Attend a 'pay-what-you-can' dress rehearsal on June 2 or June 4. Both performances start at 5:00pm, and the doors will open at 4:30. This is a dress rehearsal, so it is possible that some scenes will have to stop and re-start, but other than that, the play will run as scheduled with full costumes, sets, lights and sound.

Tickets are first-come, first-serve, and seats are open (festival seating). We ask that students plan ahead to arrive on-time, as the play will start promptly as scheduled so the evening does not run too late.

Thank you for your support of the arts at SPB and we look forward to seeing you at the show!

Heading Outdoors for Physical Education Classes – Appropriate Attire

We will regularly be heading outside for our PE units. Please ensure students dress appropriately for the weather, wear athletic shoes, and bring a water bottle. Depending on the weather, bringing a sweater may also be a good idea. Thank you for your support!
