Dear Parents and Guardians,

A turbulent first few months come to an end as we are approaching winter break. We had a great turnout for the winter concert last Friday and Sra. Poulsom and the Grade 7 and 8/9 bands impressed with a beautiful concert after only limited rehearsal time. One can easily imagine how both bands will grow during the rest of the year so do not miss the end of year concert in June.

I want to thank you all for your support for SPB this year. With your help we have managed the transition to a smaller school without the Grade 6 classes and after the teacher strike in October we quickly gained momentum and continued with our learning. I am proud that we can offer homework club twice a week, a math club on Fridays and now even a Grade 9 only Spanish club to support our students’ learning. We were able to finish a great cross-country season before basketball and soccer seasons were cut short. We will start volleyball in January; please see below for the tryout dates.

I hope that we have fewer interruptions to our learning next year, but I feel equipped to face any challenges because we know that we have your support at all times.
