Dear Parents and Guardians,

I hope you had a good start to the new year. Here at Senator Patrick Burns School we started the year with the Havana Cuban Social Dance Residency which has been very popular with our students. See below for more details.

I also want to share that SPB has been selected to receive Video Surveillance Technology (VST) in the near future. We are at the stage where I would like to share details with you in the next School Council meeting on January 21, 2026, at 6:30 pm online. We will share an overview of the Video Surveillance Technology and its benefits, talk about VST collection, use, access and controls as well as request your feedback around benefits, concerns and further questions.

Latin Dance Residency

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This week we kicked off our dance unit with the Havana Cuban Social Dance Residency. Marcos and Patricia have been teaching us partner and group dancing for the salsa and the bachata, and we have been having a lot of fun! Students have also been practicing speaking Spanish together as part of the experience, which adds an exciting cultural element to the learning.
