Dear Parents and Guardians,
Orgullo Bronco Pride for our volleyball teams:
This weekend the senior volleyball teams competed in the Monster Smash Tournament against five other schools. The senior boys had a great tournament, taking a set from every team during the round robin demonstrating they could hang with any team at this tournament. They moved on to the semi-finals against the hosting school where they took the first set in thrilling fashion. Unfortunately, McKenzie Highlands took the second and third sets by a small margin. Our senior girls had a Cinderella story. Going into the last round robin game, they had to win both sets in order to move on to the playoffs. They came together to win those two sets and move on to play the number one seed, McKenzie Highlands in the semi finals. They were able to get their revenge and get it done in two sets and move onto the finals against Harold Panabaker. The final was a thriller, with the Broncos taking the first set, the panthers taking the second. The third had a rocky start for the Broncos but they were able to pull it together and tie it up at 15. The Broncos ended up taking over to win it 17-15 and become the Monster Smash
champions! Congratulations to both our teams on a great, hard fought tournament.
A big thank you to all the parents who supported our teams and especially to our amazing PE coaches, Sra. Leeder, Sr. Al Salem, and Sr. Lopez for giving up their weekend to support our Bronco athletes.
