Dear Parents and Guardians,

On Wednesday, December 18, Senator Patrick Burns is hosting our first Winter Mercado, showcasing the hard work, creativity and ingenuity of our CTF and Fine Arts classes. Students from all grades will be represented at this event, which will be open to students, families and friends. This event will feature a market of goods being sold by students in the Construction, Design Studies and Outdoor Education options, performances by the grade 8 and 9 bands and bands in the rock club, workshops in the art studio, a hot chocolate bar with the Foods class and live improv performances in the drama room.

Items for sale, and access to concerts and events running throughout the evening, can be purchased using tickets sold by leadership students ($1=1 ticket, cash only). All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Calgary Interfaith Food Bank.

Furthermore, this month’s IN-PERSON School Council Meeting will take place on the same evening as the Winter Mercado, starting at 6:30 pm in the Conference Room. I will send out a separate email with the minutes of the previous meeting and a new agenda.

CTF Options – Food

Due to a mechanical fault, there is currently no electricity in the Foods Lab. Unfortunately, a critical part that is needed to repair the breaker has to be back ordered and will only arrive in late December. This means that there will be no stoves and microwaves available this month. We are sorry about this inconvenience.
