Dear Bronco Family

Before we leave for the summer, I wanted to share the change of our time schedule for next year. The SPB Student Wellness Team under the leadership of Sra. Sanchis started to advocate for more meaningful homeroom time for students to connect and grow. After connecting with other schools and finding out how they foster student wellness and belonging, we came up with a plan that will fit our school. Starting next year, we will introduce a 15 Minute wellness block from Monday to Thursday every week which we will call Bronco Block: On Mindset Mondays, we will focus on mindset (preparing for the Week, target setting, circle time, organizing binders and lockers), Tuesday the whole school from facility operator to principal (including visitors to SPB) will focus on 15 minutes reading Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) Tuesday, on Wellbeing Wednesdays we will focus on social emotional learning (SEL) and mindfulness and on Talk Thursdays we will review the week, have circle time and student council feedback. When we presented this idea to students in the Student Council meetings, parents in the School Council meetings and staff in Staff meetings, we received meaningful feedback on how we can successfully start this initiative. We are confident that a clear focus on wellness will have an impact on students’ wellbeing and learning beyond the daily 15 minutes of the Bronco Block. We will start this new initiative on the first day back, Monday, August 31, 2026, and will review and adjust as necessary in the following weeks and months to best utilize this time to support student learning. Please have a look at the new schedule for next year below. Start and end time of the day will not be affected.

Finally, I would like to thank you all for your never-ending support for Senator Patrick Burns School this year in general and for me personally. SPB is the school it currently is due to student, parent and staff feedback which is always appreciated.

Have a great summer!
Sr. Ludwigsen, Principal

Library End of Year Message

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the end of the school year, we are asking all students to return all library books. We want to ensure that our shelves are fully stocked and ready to welcome students back in the fall.

Please take a moment this week to check around the house, in backpacks, and on bookshelves for any school library books that may have been forgotten, and have your child return them as soon as possible.

Important Policy Update for Next Year:

Please be aware that students with outstanding overdue books from this school year will not be permitted to sign out new library books when the next school year begins until their accounts are cleared.

Thank you so much for your support and cooperation in helping us care for our school library resource collection!

Warm regards,
Sra. Barillas, Librarian
